The Beard - Especially Male

People say that women define themselves by their hair. And men? Of course they do it by their beard. A beard is not just a type of body hair, but in truth it’s a symbol. After the first shave a boy is getting a man, he’s adult. From now on the beard is growing. More than 1cm per month and even 14 cm in one year. Since that date every man will spend 3350 hours or 150 days of his life with shaving. Or not either. Men who have a full beard would be good-natured, calm and educated. Or are they just lazy? Or do they shrink from getting up a little bit earlier every single morning to get mechanically or manually to grips with the magnificent head of hair grown during the last night?

Lots of men got mellowed by the daily fight with the stubbles coming back

perennially and so they opt for the beard. May be Karl Marx was on of them. There is not even a single picture that shows the great thinker without his floating beard. In Islamic world it’s a duty to wear a beard. Being cleaned-shaved is considered as blasphemy – flush with the prophet’s beard. In times of Stone Age a full beard was modern. Inevitably it was like that because there was no equipment that could have set bounds to the growth of the beard. Only since 30.000 years were fed up with it and decided to show the world their lower part of their faces. They started shaving. At first they used stones and shells acridly ground and when later on metal was put into play they used shearing blades of bronze and copper. In the curse of centuries technology got more ad more elaborated and besides the full beard there were other possibilities wearing a beard. And so the time of whiskers came and Abraham Lincoln thought it was chic.

Moustaches or shortly called the walrus moustaches had their fans.

Lenin couldn’t dispense with it and for Salvador Dali it was kind of art. It was and still is modern – the beard.
